Montehorquera

FOR NEWCOMERS

Welcome kit

Just arrived at Monte Horquera? Here, in one place, is the practical stuff: how the community works, who to call, where to find healthcare, what services are available, and who to contact for each. Anything not yet confirmed is marked as such; nothing here is invented.

The residents' community

Monte Horquera is a homeowners' association: there is a residents' board and a property management company, and all owners pay a community fee that covers shared services (maintenance, insurance, sports courts, gardens, administration).

To receive notices, view documents and carry out paperwork, sign up on this website's residents' area. If you have just bought or rented, let the management company know so they can update the register and you can vote and take part.

A bit of history and where we are

Monte Horquera is in Vilamarxant (Villamarchante), in the Camp de Túria region, at the foot of the Les Rodanes nature reserve and very close to the river Túria. The estate was mostly built in the 1990s, right next to La Rodana.

Vilamarxant is a town of about 11,400 people, 160 m above sea level, on the right bank of the Túria, just where the river leaves the hills and enters the plain. It became part of the Kingdom of Valencia after the conquest by James I (1238), and its area holds much older traces: a Roman site in the Villalba district and settlement along the Túria since the Bronze Age.

Les Rodanes, declared a municipal nature reserve in 2002, covers around 590 hectares of reddish rodeno rock (Triassic sandstone, uncommon around here), with caves, trails and a wide variety of plants and wildlife.

Approximate distances by road to the nearby towns and cities:

  • Riba-roja de Túria about 6 km
  • Benaguasil about 7 km
  • Llíria about 8 km
  • Pedralba about 10 km
  • Cheste about 12 km
  • Loriguilla about 12 km
  • Chiva about 15 km
  • Valencia city 25 to 30 km, depending on the route

Management and community fee

The community is managed by Grupo Aparisi. They handle the fee, receipts, meeting notices and most incidents (preferably by WhatsApp, so there is a record).

Emergencies and useful phone numbers

For a real emergency — a fire in the pine woods, a health or security emergency — call 112 first.

Health: centre, hospital and area

Vilamarxant Health Centre is at C/ Font Nova, s/n (46191). It offers Family Medicine, Nursing, Paediatrics and Midwifery (with the AMAGAT programme for pregnant women). Appointments on 962 718 410; urgent care on 962 718 415.

Vilamarxant belongs to the Departamento de Salud Valencia — Arnau de Vilanova — Llíria. The reference hospital is Hospital Arnau de Vilanova (Valencia); Hospital de Llíria is the district hospital in the same department.

Important if you have just arrived: to be seen at this centre you must register with it (health-centre assignment) or arrange a temporary transfer (desplazamiento temporal) if your stay will be short. For the registration they will most likely ask for your municipal registration certificate (padrón) for Vilamarxant; registering on the padrón early also helps with this and with the community census.

Everyday services

Water: supply is municipal, managed by Global Omnium; supply and billing matters are handled with them.

Electricity: the distributor is i-DE (Iberdrola group); scheduled outages are notified according to each home's contract.

Waste and pruning: household waste always inside the bin. Furniture, bulky items and pruning waste have municipal door-to-door collection (the «Vilamarxant +sostenible» programme, run by the Town Hall and Urbaser): request it via the Línea Verde app or by calling 962 710 007.

Taxes and fees (property tax, waste collection)

The community fee is paid to the management company (Grupo Aparisi); it is separate from municipal taxes.

Property tax (IBI), the vehicle tax (IVTM) and the waste collection fee are managed by the Municipal Tax Office (C/ Acequia Huertos, 8; phone 961 650 259), under an agreement with the Diputación de Valencia. (In Valencia province the body is the Diputación de Valencia, not "SUMA", which is Alicante's.) Waste treatment is carried out by Consorcio Valencia Interior.

Shopping: supermarkets

Vilamarxant has two Consum supermarkets: one at C/ Sant Antoni, 21 (961 815 822) and another — Charter format — on Ctra. de Pedralba, 69 (960 213 036).

The nearest Mercadona is in Cheste (Plaza 2ª República), about 12 km away.

Leisure and nature

Monte Horquera sits right against the Les Rodanes Municipal Nature Reserve, within the Parc Natural del Túria: there are hiking trails that start almost from your doorstep.

Within the development, the sports courts belong to the community (accessed with a key, for residents who are up to date with their fee) and there is a children's playground on the square.

Community life: festivities, children and groups

There is neighbourhood life in the development: festivity groups, activities for children (such as Halloween events) and get-togethers organised throughout the year.

Mobile coverage

Coverage varies by carrier and the exact spot within the development, so we do not give a single figure: before signing up, check the coverage of your plot on the coverage map of the carrier you are interested in (Movistar, Vodafone, Orange or another) on its own website.

Is something missing, or is there a detail that doesn't add up? Tell the management company or suggest it in the residents' area: this kit grows and is corrected with what the community confirms.
