Who can ask

Anyone. It makes no difference whether you live in Monte Horquera or have never been here; it makes no difference whether you have an account on this site or not. The request may come from the person affected, from someone representing them, or from someone who has simply seen something that should not be published.

What happens next

• Acknowledgement within 24 hours: we confirm that your notice has arrived and has been recorded with a case number.
• Reasoned decision within 72 hours: we tell you whether the content is removed or kept, and why. If the case is doubtful, we hide it while we look into it.
• Immediate removal, before any assessment, where the content clearly affects a person's honour, their own image or a minor, or where it exposes identity documents, bank details or intimate data.
• We tell whoever published it, explaining why; they may respond within 7 days.
• The hours also run at weekends and on public holidays.

What this website does not do

This website does not settle the underlying dispute. If the person who published the content and the person complaining disagree, the content stays down and each party is free to take the matter wherever it belongs. We are not a court and we do not decide who is right.

Your data and the publisher's

We keep your notice and our decision with the date and time: it is the proof that we acted, which is why the record is kept even if the notice is rejected. We will not tell you who published the content: that information is handed over only to a court, to the public prosecutor or to the police if they require it.
